The primary mission of the Martin County
Parks & Recreation
Volunteer Trail Patrol Program is to provide a courtesy service
to lost or injured trail users by assisting them to find their
way or by helping them access the emergency/medical system. Patrollers
promote responsible trail use and serve as the eyes and ears of
the Parks & Recreation Department land managers.
The Patrol is comprised of volunteer mountain bikers, hikers and
equestrian riders who have completed appropriate training and are
able to inform, assist and educate fellow trail users. The Patrol
emphasizes emergency medical response, responsible riding education,
trail user etiquette, local expertise, and interaction with land
management agencies. |
